Focus
Starts
Here

Focus Starts Here is a proposal for an online campaign to raise awareness about the overstimulating effects of children’s media. Recent research shows that on average scenes in modern kids movies and TV shows change every 5-11 seconds. This leads to a decreased attention span and hyperactivity. The campaign wanted something straightfoward and simple to get the point across as efficiently as possible. Working with designers Aude Grosset and Charlotte Howard, the campaign’s identity was created along with advertisements and socials.

We played around with the idea of hyperactivity and motion, using ‘blobs’ as children is designed around the idea of kids’ pupils moving rapidly in order to take in all the information on the screen. They convey the effects of overtsimulating media on young minds, and provide a visual that parents can associate with their own children. Concerned parents can use the campaign’s instagram or website to find resources that aid in their child’s development, rather than hinder it.
