Unassuming Outside


Unassuming Outside is a series of strata-cut animations revolving around the word ‘outside’. It is a, seemingly, plain coloured ball of clay. Once cut into, reveals a beautiful, marbled centre. I cut thin slices into the clay and photographed each change; the images were then compiled into photoshop to animate them. 


Unassuming Outside was created as both a gif and a video with sound (as can be seen below). The creation of these animations was inspired by blackpool rock candy, which often have words or images that can be seen inside the candy.
